Welcome to the Swine and Poultry  Infectious Diseases Research Centre or CRIPA. Located in the Université de Montreal, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (in St.Hyacinthe), this Centre is under the direction of Professor Carl A. Gagnon, Director of the Swine Infectious Diseases Research Group (Groupe de Recherche sur les Maladies Infectieuses du Porc).

The purpose of this Centre is to maximize the benefits derived from research related to swine and poultry infectious diseases. In order to achieve this, the Centre aims to coordinate the complementary efforts of the majority of the groups possessing relevant expertise in Quebec.

The CRIPA thus intends to create a dynamic environment for interaction among 30 teams headed by scientists devoted to basic or applied research at six universities and four government institutions. It also seeks to stimulate communication between these researchers and potential users of their findings, primarily veterinarians and pork and/or poultry producers in Québec.

The CRIPA is funded by the FRQ_NT « Fonds québécois de la recherche sur la nature et les technologies ».
